Masterpiece Optimus Prime MP-10 ‘Year of the Horse’ Platinum Edition – Added 06/07/2020

The great experiment…
I’ve been an avid collector of lots of different toy lines (including many transformers!) for quite a while and figured it was about time I combined that with my love of photography.

What better place to start, than with iconic autobot leader Optimus Prime, seen here in his reimagined ‘Masterpiece’ form, specifically the MP-10 ‘Year of the Horse’ Platinum Edition.

As I own the complete transformers G1 animated series, I figured, why not try to drop masterpiece prime into a scene from the original cartoon? So after scouring through assorted episode backgrounds I decided to put Optimus on evening lookout outside Autobot HQ – The Ark.

Using my trusty Nikon D7100 along with the highly versatile 18-135mm lens and some carefully positioned lighting these were the results (after some camera raw tweaks).

I’m pretty pleased with this little experiment, so stay tuned for more!
